WHAT IS THE SPECIALITY OF UROLOGY
  • Urology is a surgical specialty which encompasses the diagnosis and treatment of problems relating to the urinary tract in men and women, adults and children. It also encompasses the genital system of men and boys.

  • A urologist is a physician with at least five years of specialized training after medical school.

  • Some common conditions we specialize in are: prostate trouble including prostatitis and early prostate cancer detection in men; urinary tract infections, vasectomies for permanent birth control, cancers of the kidney, bladder, prostate gland, and testicles; incontinence of urine.

  • Pediatric Urology is an area we particularly enjoy and includes, circumcision, hydroceles, undescended testicles, bed wetting and hypospadias.

  • The treatment of kidney stones also falls within the specialty of Urology. We offer the most up-to-date methods of treating stones including "non-surgical” methods such as laser disintegration of stones.
